Over ninety years ago, a dream began to take root in the fertile soil of Paraje Chano Villar. This dream was simple yet profound: to create a unique wine that would stand the test of time. Today, that dream has blossomed into “Rincón de Heredad”, a wine that captures the essence of our exceptional vineyard in Bierzo, known for its exclusive cultivation of 100% Mencía grapes, which are exceptionally distinctive and unique.
Our journey at Bodegas Heredad has been one of passion, hard work and family dedication. Each bottle of our wine is a testament to this commitment, earning prestigious distinctions both nationally and internationally. We have been honored with awards like the Golden “Bacchus” and the Gold Medal at the 2024 “Brussels World Wine Competition”.
From the vineyard to your glass, every step of our winemaking process is handled with care and precision at our facilities. Starting from the harvest to bottling and labeling, including fermentation, this hands-on approach, combined with Bierzo's unique climate and rich soils, allows us to create a wine experience that is truly one of a kind.
“Rincón de Heredad” is aged for 17 months in French and American oak barrels, developing a rich and complex flavor profile. One can notice its deep violet color and the tears that form on the glass, hinting the balance of this unique wine. On the nose, vibrant aromas of red fruits like strawberry, cherry, and raspberry can be found, along with floral notes and hints of vanilla, oak, and licorice. Finally, while being tasted, one can experience a fresh, well-balanced wine with good acidity and a lasting finish.
